Back in Stride
I won my game last night against a solid opponent. I've been turning the Modern/Robatch defense into the King's Indian defence by playing c4. I think in some instances, this type of maneuver can throw people off their game, if they don't also the King's Indian Defense. Judging by some slow 5th, 9th, and 10th moves perhaps it's true. He really should be focused on playing f5 as soon as possible.
Overall, I enjoyed the game. I wasn't tired like last week, so I was thinking rather well. I like dynamic games when each side is attacking on one half of the board.

That's not a bad idea, Christopher. The opp that gave me fits in my championship win (the one that beat me to become co-champ) uses the Robatsch Gurgenidze as Black. So, I need to prepare for the Stonewall when I'm black against him and the Gurgenidze as white. I may take your cue and try to transpose into a KID like you've done here. Heck, it even looks like I could try something nasty like the 4-pawns variation of the KID and make things very uncomfortable for him. One thing I can tell from the way he plays chess is that he hates not to be in control and he hates highly-tactical situations. Forcing him to transpose into something he's not too familiar with may be the best route. I think I've figured out how to play against his Stonewall, so next year (or sooner if I have the chance to play against him) I should be VERY prepared for him.
